United Kingdom

The London office provides GAIN with a presence in the UK’s international development community.

The Government of the UK has been a leading actor in nutrition, particularly since the Global Hunger Event convened alongside the London Olympics in 2012 and the Nutrition for Growth Summit. GAIN UK leads engagement with the UK Department for International Development, seeking to influence their global agendas on nutrition and food systems. GAIN’s Policy and Advocacy team, based in London, spearheads efforts to bring GAIN’s priorities and learning to discussions in Whitehall.

GAIN UK hosts the Global Secretariat of the SUN Business Network. The Secretariat is responsible for the Network’s activities working in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP).

GAIN UK coordinates the Making Markets Work programme. This strategic programme addresses critical systems gaps that result in markets not working well enough to provide available, affordable and desirable foods, connecting with communities and partners in London working on innovation, technology, accountability and public-private engagement.

London is the home of Nutrition Connect, GAIN’s online hub to gather and mobilise knowledge, share experiences and stimulate dialogue on public-private engagements (PPE) for nutrition.

The GAIN UK office hosts members of the global human resources, international finance and development office functions. Members of the programme services and knowledge leadership teams are also based in London.
