Food Tank Summit

Food Tank, New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, Hunter College NYC Food Policy Center, Rethink Food Waste Through Economics and Data (ReFED), Natural Resources Defense Council, the Fink Family Foundation, and The Rockefeller Foundation are excited to announce the second annual NYC Food Tank Summit on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 (9:00AM-5:00PM) focused on food loss and food waste, at New York University School of Law (Tishman Auditorium, Vanderbilt Hall, 40 Washington Square S, New York, NY).

Globally, at least one-third of all food produced is wasted, from field to table. The NYC Food Tank Summit examines how we can scale out solutions already working to prevent loss and waste by bringing together the world’s thought leaders including funders, academics, food businesses, celebrity chefs, farmers, food journalists, researchers, activists, and more.

“There is more urgency to prevent food loss than ever before” says Danielle Nierenberg, President of Food Tank. “The time is now to urge businesses, policy makers, governments and all of us eaters to make changes in how we produce, buy and consume food.”
