Tobias Wasmuht is the Chief Executive Officer of SPAR International – the world’s largest food retail voluntary organisation. Tobias is responsible for the expansion and strategic development of SPAR worldwide.
Tobias joined SPAR in 2000 and has been responsible for the international development of retail and marketing activities of the SPAR organization worldwide. Together with an international team headquarter in Amsterdam, he has implemented new retail concepts internationally and supported SPAR partners in over 40 countries worldwide.
In 2004, he led the launch of SPAR into China and thereafter its growth in Asia. He held the dual role of being the Managing Director of SPAR China in addition to his global role as International Retail and Marketing Director. In addition to being a member of the International Board of SPAR since 2007, he has also served on the advisory board of Global Alliance for Improvement in Nutrition (GAIN), the CCFA Retail Leadership Council, the board of ECR China as well as on the advisory board of the World Retail Congress.
