Food systems offer ample opportunities to help make healthy diets available, affordable and appealing. Policymakers need an answer to the question: What do I need to change about our food system to improve diets and nutrition?
This webinar will discuss how more than 200 recommendations from 12 reports led to a list of 42 food systems actions that policy makers can choose from to create a more nutritious food system.

The 42 policies and actions will support governments and others in transforming their food systems to ensure access to safe, nutritious and affordable food for everyone. The work has been conducted by City, University of London; GAIN, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and Johns Hopkins University. A brief listing the 42 actions, authored by Corinna Hawkes, Stephanie Walton, Lawrence Haddad and Jessica Fanzo, will be launched at the webinar.
The Food Systems Summit will be a critical component to build back better in the face of Covid-19 to ensure healthy, nutritious diets more available, accessible, affordable and appealing. The potential is huge, whether it’s for tackling wasting, underweight, stunting, obesity, or diet-related non communicable diseases.
