Dear Global Conference and Global Summit on Food Fortification Community,
Due to guidance from the Government of Thailand, in response to the threat of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Southeast Asia, we are postponing the Micronutrient Forum 5th Global Conference and the Second Global Summit on Food Fortification to a later, as-yet-unspecified date.
Earlier this week, the Department of Disease Control of the Thailand Ministry of Public Health communicated a strong recommendation to postpone all large events and gatherings in the country due to COVID-19. We are following that advice because the health and safety of our speakers, delegates, sponsors, and partners are paramount.
In accordance with the recommendation, the Micronutrient Forum is postponing the 5th Global Conference, originally scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand from March 23 to 27, 2020, and GAIN, the Micronutrient Forum and HarvestPlus are postponing the Second Global Summit on Food Fortification, originally scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand March 22 and 23, 2020.

We know that you will have questions about this decision and its effect on you, and we will be following up with you with more information within the coming days. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to you and your colleagues by this decision, which was based on factors beyond our control.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this epidemic and with our dedicated Local Organising Committee for their endless effort and hard work under these difficult circumstances. To them and to all of you, we express our strong commitment to make this conference happen, in Thailand, in the near future.
