Prior to joining CRS, Mawuli recently consulted for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on the New Strategy Refresh for Nutrition focusing on LSFF and the EU. In 2019/2020 Mawuli served as Nutrition Specialist with UNICEF Head Quarters in New York, focusing on Food Systems and Food Fortification work at global and regional level. He was the Nutrition and Food Systems Expert for FAO in the Africa Regional Office, where he championed the mainstreaming of Nutrition into the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), which advanced improving agricultural food systems for better nutrition.
He had served as the International Nutrition Expert on the Hunger Free Initiative for West Africa and managed Helen Keller International Regional Food Fortification programs in Africa. He had provided exceptional oversight of multi-million-dollar global and regional projects on international development, human right, nutrition and food systems for international organizations, including UN-Agencies, Multilateral Donors, PVOs and NGOs among under-represented populations.
He is a member of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), International Study Association (ISA) and Global Technical Advisory Group on Food Fortification. Mawuli has graduate and post-graduate qualifications in Food Science and Nutrition, a laureate of the Africa Nutrition Leadership Program and has a Doctorate from the Geneva School of Diplomacy and International Relations focusing on Human Right to Food and Nutrition
