Project Manager- Policy and Food Systems


Mandira has been working in GAIN for almost 2 years. Joined as the Senior Policy Associate- UN Food Systems Summit in 2021, now she is working as Project Manager- Policy and Food Systems. Her main areas of works are policy and influencing with different ministries and government agencies involved with food systems, nutrition and youth mobilization to ensure the effective implementation of national commitments made at different important global summits, such as UN Food Systems Summit (UN FSS) 2021, Nutrition for Growth Summit (N4G) 2021, Cooperation of Parties (COP) 26.

Along with that, she is also coordinating with Bangladesh Government to ensure country participation in different global coalitions related to post-UN FSS activities. She has completed her graduation in English Language and Literature from Jahangirnagar University and obtained her 2nd Master on Development Studies in BRAC University.

She has 11 years of experience working as advocacy professional in several national and international development organizations such as- World Vision Bangladesh, WaterAid Bangladesh, Room to Read Bangladesh, CARE Bangladesh, Unnayan Shamannay, BLAST, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD).

Mandira’s expertise includes policy influencing and advocacy and works related to it, technical and strategic planning and support in and leading the process of policy analysis and reformation, lobbying, external engagement and networking, qualitative research, Advocacy based knowledge product development, Project and budget management. In her career she has experiences in areas like food security, mother and child health and nutrition, violence against women, char development, education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and good governance and social accountability
