Luke Metelerkamp, PhD, is Head of the African City Food Centre at ICLEI Africa and a key contributor to the AfriFOODlinks project, where he supports African cities in advancing inclusive and sustainable urban food systems. His work focuses on linking research, policy, and on-the-ground city action to help local governments integrate food systems thinking into urban planning and governance. Luke collaborates closely with municipalities, researchers, and civil society partners across Africa to strengthen city-led responses to food security, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
