Genet Gebremedhin is a Food and Nutrition professional with over 25 years of experience across the private sector, public institutions, and international development. She specializes in nutrition, food safety, food technology, and quality infrastructure—including food testing, certification, standardization, inspection, accreditation, and ISO-based systems.
Genet also has extensive experience in policy and advocacy, working to influence food and nutrition policies that promote access to safe and nutritious food. Her work spans technical, leadership, and strategic roles in support of sustainable food systems.
She holds an MSc in Food Science and Nutrition from Addis Ababa University and has received specialized training from various international institutes. Genet currently serves as Head of Policy and Advocacy at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).
