Overview

World Food Day, celebrated annually on 16 October, serves as a global platform to spotlight collective actions and progress in building sustainable food systems. The official theme for World Food Day 2025 is “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.”

This theme underscores the importance of global collaboration across governments, organizations, sectors, and communities to build a peaceful, sustainable, and food-secure future. In line with this, GAIN’s overarching proposed theme will focus on Actors, Actions, and Achievements, our campaign will highlight the diverse stakeholders contributing to food systems transformation, showcase their tangible impacts, and reinforce GAIN’s role as a catalyst for change.

The campaign will celebrate the actors we partner with, amplify the actions driving progress, and spotlight the achievements that are shaping healthier, more resilient food systems.
