Currently, more than 130 countries have mandated the fortification of at least one type of food with micronutrients. Despite this, some LSFF programs have yet to deliver their full potential in terms of reach and impact on nutrition in many countries.
Understanding and addressing these gaps along the fortification supply chain is critical to ensure the quality and safety of fortified products in the food system. This requires accessing and managing information/data along the fortification value chain to trace quality from production to consumption.
This webinar will focus on fortification quality digitization. Simply collecting and making data available is not enough to drive big change and improve health; data must be processed and reported in a timely manner i.e. packaged in digestible, smart and effective ways to various players and decision makers. In other words, the entire data value chain must be strengthened. With the surge of advances in technology and digital solutions that can replace manual methods of collecting and managing data, increased access to large amounts of data from various sources is now made possible.
