Steven Sabey has been Nutrition Team Leader at the UK Department for International Development (DFID) since December 2016.
Steven has 20 years of development experience with DFID and the United Nations, with previous roles including: Head of the DFID World Bank Group team; Co-author of the UK Aid Strategy 2015; Deputy Country Director, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China – leading on engagement with China on global development issues; Coordination Policy Adviser to the UN Resident Coordinator in China; Development Counsellor to Jan Eliasson as President of the UN General Assembly; Private Secretary to the Secretary of State at DFID; Head of DFID Baghdad; Team Manager for Health Systems and Maternal Health; Zimbabwe Deputy Programme Manager; and Policy Coordination Officer.
Steven has a Masters in Geography from the University of Oxford. He is married with one daughter and currently lives in London.
