Manasseh Miruka joined GAIN in December 2021 as the Cluster Lead, Nutrition Enterprise Unit to provide strategic and technical guidance to the teams executing three components funded by MFA – Dutch 3.0 projects of N3F, SBN, Impact at Scale.
These projects are being implemented in the six GAIN countries of Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, and Benin. I also work with PST colleagues across other clusters and components in other GAIN countries of Tanzania, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as supporting the N3F team to scale activities across the SSA.
Manasseh's background is in Business Development and entrepreneurship facilitation, having worked with MSMEs to accelerate their businesses for growth and connecting them to finance among other support services. His experience spans over 20 years of work in the INGO space, International Development and Private sectors across Africa.
Over the years Manasseh has worked ps and SMEs in the Agri- and food systems delivering quality facilitation and technical assistance in pivoting business models for access to new markets, finance, and product development.
Some of his work has been within development organizations such as GIZ in partnership with Integration Group, World Bank in collaboration of the Ministry of Trade and Industrialization in Kenya, UNDP Kenya in collaboration with UNCTAD-EMPRETEC and Enterprise Uganda, Euromonitor International, Mott MacDonald BV Netherlands, Wadhwani Operating Foundation and Growth Africa Foundation.
Manasseh holds extensive experience working with Business Member Organisations in automotives, poultry, fisheries/aquaculture, and horticulture among other sectors promoting over 2000 members to gain business planning and organisational/governance, and management excellence aspects of their businesses/associations.
Furthermore, Manasseh is a qualified behavioural competencies and technical assistance facilitator and certified trainer of entrepreneurs utilising sets of tools with global resonance including the EMPRETEC Model, ILO-SIYB model and Participatory Market systems Development approaches.
As a master facilitator he has supported university lecturers across several universities in African countries to acquire employability and soft skills training competencies for enhancement of employment opportunities for graduates from various technical institutions.
