Better nutrition for a healthier workforce


11 million preventable deaths occur every year due to unhealthy diets, almost 1 billion people are undernourished, and 2 billion people are overweight or obese. If adults spend one third of their time every day of their adult life at work, occupational health is a critical determinant of overall well-being.

We see workforce nutrition programmes as a promising strategy for addressing all facets of malnutrition through improved diets, yielding benefits to both employees and employers.

As the demand for such programmes grows, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and the Consumer Goods for Forum (CGF) are co-hosting a technical workshop to bring together partners from the public and private sectors to discuss best practices, challenges and opportunities in improving employee nutrition across supply chains.
