Dr Kaosar Afsana is Director of the Health, Nutrition and Population Programme at BRAC in Bangladesh.
She has been with BRAC since 1992. She is a faculty member at the James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University and an MD with MPH from Harvard University, USA and PhD from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
Her portfolio within BRAC covers a wider spectrum of health, nutrition and population sectors reaching 120 million people through community reach. She plays a critical role in policy-making/planning and programme design/implementation, particularly in reproductive and sexual health, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health and nutrition and m-Health at organization, national and global levels.
Prof Afsana authored two books, is published widely, and has been awarded with many prestigious awards. She represents BRAC as a member of various national and international bodies.
