14 October 2009 In September 2007, GAIN awarded US$3.00 million to the UN World Food Program (WFP), in partnership with government-owned and private mills, to strengthen the Egyptian National Food Fortification Program by fortifying wheat flour used for baking Baladi bread with iron and folic acid (B9). Baladi bread is a staple food generally consumed by low-income populations throughout the country. Watch more on this video from the Living Proof Project
