Alexandre Mérieux
From 1999 to 2004, Alexandre Mėrieux worked in marketing for the Silliker Group Corporation in the U.S. and Europe and as a Marketing and Business Unit director in France. He is currently member of the Board of Directors of Silliker Group Corporation. Silliker provides consulting, testing, auditing, research and education services that help assure agri-food safety and nutrition worldwide. In 2005 he joined the Industrial Microbiology division of bioMérieux as Corporate VP. He is Member of the Board of Directors of bioMerieux SA. In December 2008 he was appointed “Directeur Général Délégué” of bioMerieux in December 2008. A world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics for over 45 years, bioMerieux provides diagnostic solutions (reagents, instruments, software) which determine the source of disease and contamination to improve patient health and ensure consumer safety. Its products are used for diagnosing infectious diseases and providing high medical value results for cancer screening and monitoring and cardiovascular emergencies. They are also used for detecting microorganisms in agri-food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Vice-Président of Mérieux Alliance (Merieux Family holding Company) whose mission is to improve patient and consumer care worldwide with innovative solutions derived from biology. Through its companies, bioMérieux, Silliker, Shantha Biotechnics Ltd.,Transgene and Advanced BioScience Laboratories, Mérieux Alliance intends to fight infectious diseases, cardiovascular pathologies and cancers through a global approach, spanning the complete range of healthcare: prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, therapeutics and clinical follow-up. Alexandre Mérieux holds a degree in Biology from Lyon I University and is a graduate of HEC Montreal Business School.
