Project Overview

According to the Demographic Health Survey 2003, 34 percent of children between 0 months and 35 months old in rural areas of Ghana suffer chronic malnutrition. GAIN will work with Yedent Agro-processing Ventures Limited to produce high quality nutritious fortified complementary foods to reduce child malnutrition in Ghana.

Goal

The goal of the program is to reduce the prevalence of anemia in children 6 months to 24 months old.

Impact

At full scale, the project aims to reach 64 percent of the 750,000 target children aged 6 to 24 months in the country. At the end of five years, it is expected that more than 1.5 million children will be consuming the product.

Duration

The project will last five years.
