Vision
All people, everywhere, have the nutrition they need to live healthy and productive lives.
Mission
Reduce malnutrition through the use of food fortification and other strategies aimed at improving the health and nutrition of populations at risk.
Target
Reach 1 billion people with improved nutrition of whom 500 million are most vulnerable to vitamin and mineral deficiences.
Progress
Our best available data indicates that, when our programs are at full scale, we will reach 600 million people through our food fortification program. We are currently designing new initiatives to reach 400 million more.
Method
Use markets to deliver improved nutrition, based on public health objectives.
Approach
Build public-private partnerships and support them financially and technically to produce and market better nutrition to those in need, based on strict quality standards and clear targets, measured against scientific indicators.
Focus
Countries with populations at risk, in particular infants, young children and women: Asia, in particular China and India, countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America.
