Networking and Partnerships

GAIN builds on its unique position in the nutrition space to bring together a wide range of multi-sector stakeholders and forge partnerships in the fight against malnutrition. Activities include:

  • GAIN Business Alliance Global Forum:  This annual event brings together international stakeholders committed to the fight against malnutrition and provides a unique occasion to network and share best practices with active players in nutrition and low income consumers markets. The 5th GAIN Business Alliance Forum was held in Vienna in November 2011.
  • Regional forums:  Regional events are held several times per year in different strategic locations and provide a space for BA members to explore partnership opportunities and build local capacity. BA members can engage government decision makers and local producers more closely, and conduct more in-depth technical discussions.
  • Partnership facilitation:  GAIN helps companies identify opportunities for collaboration with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), governments, international organizations (IOs), academia and the nutrition sector.

Communications and Advocacy

GAIN is eager to share BA member stories highlighting their contributions to the fight against malnutrition.  Furthermore, GAIN is interested in recognizing BA members as well as other innovators who have had an impact on the nutrition sector.  As such, GAIN offers:

  • The GAIN Business Award:  GAIN, in association with the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), has created the GAIN Business Award to recognize innovation designed to fight malnutrition, improve public health and promote sustainable development.  The award brings malnutrition and other health issues to the attention of the international media and encourages companies to continue seeking sustainable business solutions in the fight against malnutrition.
