The GAIN Secretariat is a small team of professionals and support staff who manage the day-to-day operations of the foundation. 

Apart from the office of the Executive Director and the Chief Operating Officer (which provide respectively, leadership and management services and finance, human resources, information technology and administrative support) GAIN operates through four program areas:

• Nutrition (which includes national fortification programs, salt iodization, infant and young child nutrition, nutrition and infectious diseases, and the GAIN premix facility);
• Partnerships and Capacity building (which includes business partnerships and the GAIN Business Alliance, institutional partnerships and capacity building);
• Performance Measurement and Research (which includes performance measurement tools and systems, evaluation and research)
• External Relations (communications, advocacy, donor relations, resource mobilization and the innovative finance program).

GAIN is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and has Regional Offices in New Delhi, India,  and Johannesburg, South Africa and Regional Representatives in Beijing, China, and Cairo, Egypt.
