GAIN provides grants to enable public-private partnerships to explore new market-based models that contribute to fighting malnutrition.
Our grants now support 19 projects in 17 countries to fortify staple foods with vitamins and minerals, as well as a series of smaller projects that look at improving nutrition for specific target audiences, for example HIV/Aids patients, refugees and school children.
In addition, we are now working on new grant and financing mechanisms to make access to vitamin and mineral premix easier to producers in developing countries; encourage the private sector to contribute to the improved nutrition of infants and young children between 6 and 24 months of age; and raise the coverage of salt iodization to 90% worldwide.
Our grants are always disbursed through a specific process, and grant opportunities are announced on this website.
