Marketplace for Nutritious Foods

11 Mar 2013 () - 12 Mar 2013 ()

To alleviate malnutrition, The Marketplace for Nutritious Foods (The Marketplace) is a knowledge, networking and financing platform to support local enterprises in developing countries. The Marketplace seeks viable enterprises that can strengthen agricultural value chains, and thereby deliver affordable and accessible nutritious foods to markets. Business concepts pass a vigorous review by an expert panel, to be awarded funding, technical assistance and access to an exclusive network of investors and business mentors. Ideas become reality as The Marketplace encourages testing and support for innovation, and offers a platform where market failures and policy constraints to improving nutrition are addressed.

The goal of The Marketplace is to accelerate ideas which increase the availability and accessibility of diverse and nutritious foods in the markets of developing economies. It does this through technical capacity building and investments in private sector innovations along the agriculture value chain.
