GAIN enables innovation by private-public partnerships by providing financial and technical assistance.
Our support allows partnerships to use market mechanisms and new business models to effectively and sustainably deliver food fortification and other nutrition strategies to vulnerable groups.
Grants
GAIN makes grants to support national fortification programs and projects that are designed to remove major obstacles to innovation. Grants are awarded in a competitive process to ensure the best ideas with the maximum impact are awarded.
Know-how
GAIN provides technical assistance and know-how on the design, implementation and evaluation of nutrition programs in general and food fortification in particular to ensure that all projects are as effective as possible. We are learning every day on new business and partnership models, which we apply in our own work and share with others.
Advocacy
We promote what we learn and encourage others in the nutrition sector, but also beyond, to apply public-private partnerships. And we advocate the solutions we find to governments, the private sector and other stakeholders.
10 Year Strategy
We work with other stakeholders on a long-term strategy to end vitamin and mineral deficiencies. These partners include UNICEF, WHO, MI and others. The goal is for a sector-wide strategy, where different partners contribute to shared goals and objectives.
