Bolivia - National Food Fortification Program
The goal of the national program is to improve the nutritional status of the Bolivian population, particularly children under five years of age and women of reproductive age, through the fortification of wheat flour and vegetable oil. It is expected that the prevalence of iron and vitamin A deficiency and the incidence of neural tube defects (NTD) will be reduced.

Ghana - National Food Fortification Program
The goal is to reduce the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia by 20% within 5 years. This goal will be considered successfully achieved if anemia is reduced in women of reproductive age from the current 64% to 51.2%, and in children 3-5 years of age from 84% to 67.2% by Year 5, as well as to reduce the prevalence of preventable birth defects by at least 33%.

Dominican Republic - Fortification of sugar and wheat flour
This national goal will be achieved if 100% of the wheat flour and 80% of the sugar are fortified with iron, folic acid and other B complex vitamins (flour), and vitamin A (sugar) according to the regulatory standards by the year 2008. The achievement of this goal is expected to reduce anaemia from 27% to 20% and vitamin A deficiency from 22.7% (< serum retinol of 20mg/dl) to 10% in children under five, and result in a 20% reduction of NTD rates between Baseline and 2008.

Strengthening and Implementation of the National Food Fortification Program
The goal of the national program is to improve the nutritional status of the Bolivian population, particularly children under five years of age and women of reproductive age, through the fortification of wheat flour and vegetable oil. It is expected that the prevalence of iron and vitamin A deficiency and the incidence of neural tube defects (NTD) will be reduced. This goal will be achieved if one hundred percent of the domestically produced wheat flour and vegetable oil, and ninety percent of all wheat flour and vegetable oil (including imported products) are fortified according to national fortification standards by the year 2006. The achievement of this goal is expected to reduce the prevalence of iron deficiency from 33% to 20% in children under five years of age, and from 18% to 10% among women of reproductive age, and the prevalence of vitamin A deficiency from 11% to less than 5% in children under five years of age, and result in a 20% reduction of NTD rates between years 2004 and 2008.

Nigeria - Social Marketing, Capacity Building, Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment of Fortified foods
The goal of this programme is to significantly reduce VAD and IDA resulting in blindness, lowered immunity to infections and anaemia amongst low income families with infants, underfive, and women of reproductive age and other at risk population through Universal vitamin A and iron fortification of wheat and maize flour, vegetable oil and sugar. This goal will be achieved if the incidence of vitamin A deficiency amongst U5 children is reduced from 25% to 20%, and anaemia from 27.8% to 22% between 2004 - 2009. To do this 10 flour mills producing 80% of Nigeria's flour will fortify the flour with vitamin A and iron reaching 100% of the poor and deficient population in Nigeria.

Morocco - Oil and wheat fortification
The goal of the project is the full implementation of wheat flour fortification and the introduction of a new program to fortify vegetable oil. These are both staple foods available to low-income populations at affordable prices, distributed through nationwide networks.
