GENEVA OFFICE (HQ)

The GAIN Headquarters is based in Geneva, Switzerland and houses over 60 employees as well as rotating consultants and interns. Located close to many other international organizations, the office has modern IT facilities and is steadily expanding within the building. GAIN is a relatively young organization and has grown significantly in the past twelve months, which is why around 50 percent of the staff here are in their first year of service.

GAIN makes a concerted effort to recruit staff locally, both at HQ and in the regions. One third of staff in the Geneva office are Swiss and other nationalities that are well-represented include France and the USA. A local recruitment policy not only enhances GAIN’s image in local markets but results in recruitment cost efficiencies.

Like the other GAIN offices, the Headquarters boasts a lively and dynamic multi-cultural environment with an international feel. Staff backgrounds vary, ranging from the public health and private sector. English is the working language.

Employees are always ready to help each other and new recruits are assigned a ‘buddy’ system - someone in another team that helps newcomers get to know the organization and integrate into the team. This conviviality extends to staff events and teambuilding activities which take place throughout the year, including a Christmas party, Christmas children’s party and, this being Switzerland, sledging and snow sports activities in winter. Once a week staff gather together for an informal ‘cheese and wine’ evening.
