Roger Barnett - Chairman and CEO, Shaklee Corporation
Mr. Barnett is the Chairman and CEO of Shaklee Corporation, one of the leading providers of premium-quality, natural, nutrition, personal care, and household products. Founded in 1956, Shaklee is the number one natural nutrition company in the U.S., with more than 750,000 members and distributors in the U.S., Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, Canada and Taiwan.
Mr. Barnett began his career at the investment banking firm Lazard Freres & Co. He then organized an investment group to acquire control of Arcade, Inc., a fragrance sampling company, and became its President and Chief Executive Officer. During his six-year tenure, Arcade was transformed into the largest sampling company in the world, expanding from a solely U.S. operation into a global business. Under Mr. Barnett’s leadership, the number of products multiplied tenfold and entered new industries that significantly increased the total size of the company’s served market. He was also the founder and Chairman and CEO of Beauty.com, which continues to be one of the leading internet retailers in the cosmetics industry. In addition, Mr. Barnett has served as the Managing Partner of Activated Holdings LLC, an investment vehicle for a private family holding company, controlling more than $2 billion in assets.
Mr. Barnett received his undergraduate degree from Yale College, his law degree from Yale Law School, and his MBA from Harvard Business School. Mr. Barnett has been selected as a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum (Davos) and is a member of its private investment community. He has also been selected as a Young Leader Forum Fellow by the Council on U.S.-China Relations, and is a member of the Young President’s Organization. Antony Burgmans KBE - Former Chairman and CEO Unilever
Antony Burgmans was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 1947. After an education in the Netherlands, UK (business administration) and Sweden (political science) he joined Unilever as a marketing trainee in 1972. During his career in Unilever he has been based in Rotterdam, London, Jakarta and Hamburg. During the first 20 years he worked in marketing, sales and general management. He became Chairman and CEO of Unilever in 1999 and retired in 2007.
In 2005, Mr Burgmans received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Lancaster. In 2005, he was appointed Commander in the Order of Orange-Nassau, in 2007 he received the United Nations Humanitarian of the Year Award and in 2008 he was appointed Honorary Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE).
Currently, he is a non-executive board member of BP and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Akzo-Nobel, Aegon and SHV. He is a member of the board of WWF The Netherlands, and chairs the boards of the Dutch National Opera (Amsterdam) and the Mauritshuis (The Hague). He co-founded the Marine Stewardship Council in 1998. He enjoys opera, traditional and modern paintings, soccer, wildlife photography and travelling with his children.
Professor Stuart Hart - Cornell University, Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise
Stuart L. Hart is the Samuel C. Johnson Chair of Sustainable Global Enterprise and Professor of Management at Cornell University's Johnson School of Management. Before joining Cornell in 2003, he was the Hans Zulliger Distinguished Professor of Sustainable Enterprise and Professor of Strategic Management at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he founded the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise and the Base of the Pyramid Learning Laboratory. Previously, he taught corporate strategy at the University of Michigan Business School and was the founding director of the Corporate Environmental Management Program (CEMP).
Professor Hart is one of the world’s top authorities on the implications of sustainable development and environmentalism for business strategy. He has published over 50 papers and authored or edited five books. His article “Beyond Greening: Strategies for a Sustainable World” won the McKinsey Award for Best Article in the Harvard Business Review for 1997 and helped launch the movement for corporate sustainability. With C.K. Prahalad, Hart also wrote the pathbreaking 2002 article “The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid,” which provided the first articulation of how business could profitably serve the needs of the four billion poor in the developing world. His new book, Capitalism at the Crossroads, was published by Wharton School Publishing in 2005. The second edition of the book with a new Foreword by Al Gore was published in 2007.

Sarita is Senior Director, Consumer Industries and Officer, World Economic Forum, USA. In this role, Sarita manages all of the World Economic Forum's relationships with its Consumer Industries partners and members who are among the world's largest, most successful and recognizable businesses. The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Rakesh Nangia - Director of Operations, World Bank Institute
Rakesh Nangia has been the Acting Vice President for the World Bank Institute (WBI) since March 2007. During this period, he has been instrumental in providing strategic direction to WBI in its time of transition. He guided the preparation of a demand-driven, results-based system to allocate resources within WBI programs. In addition, Mr. Nangia has been providing leadership to developing a results framework for capacity building in organizations. In this short time, he also provided direction for developing a strategic framework for the capacity building program in Sudan, which is the largest (more than $10 million) and most comprehensive program in WBI. In addition, he managed the preparation of several Board documents, including the African Virtual University, which was important for managing the reputational risks to the Bank, and the restructuring of the Robert S. McNamara Scholarships Program to help address structural weaknesses.
Rakesh coordinates the activities of around 230 motivated staff and manages the day-to-day operations of WBI, ensuring delivery of a quality work program. Over the last year, WBI delivered more than 700 activities covering a wide array of subjects, audiences and delivery methods. The programs, which reach more than 70,000 participants, include “wholesale” level support through partnerships and direct “retail” level activities with clients from government, civil society and the private sector.
Immediately prior to his current position, Mr. Nangia served as Manager, Portfolio and Country Operations, in Vietnam from December 2001 through August 2006. Rakesh spearheaded the partnership for Harmonization and Aid Effectiveness, an effort which resulted in Vietnam being recognized as the global leader and “best-practice”. He also developed an innovative approach to review the Bank’s portfolio by focusing on results. The effort was recognized by OPCS as "cutting edge and a pioneer" and is now being emulated by other country programs in EAP as well as some other regions. During his term, Rakesh also pioneered the fiduciary analysis of the Vietnam portfolio, which formed the basis of the Detailed Implementation Reviews currently undertaken by INT in several countries.
Before moving to Vietnam, Mr. Nangia was based in Tanzania. As Lead Operations Officer, he was responsible for managing the Bank’s lending portfolio and the Operations team. In addition to strengthening the Tanzania portfolio and building a robust pipeline, Rakesh led the dialogue with Government on sensitive and complex sector-specific and broader issues including financial sector reform, infrastructure development and tax administration.
Mr. Nangia’s career has spanned a wide range of countries and positions, including development work in South Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, East Asia, the Corporate Secretariat and Central Accounting.
Rakesh is an Indian national and attended the Indian Institute of Technology, the University of London, and Harvard University and holds degrees in business administration and engineering. He is married with two wonderful children.

Will Oulton - Managing Director CRG Advisory Services Ltd and former Deputy CEO of FTSE Group
Will is the founder of a private consultancy practice advising companies and investors on the development of corporate responsibility practices as well as playing a leading role in the development of the global responsible investment market.
CRG’s clients include multinational companies, investment institutions, NGOs and FTSE Group, where Will acts as the pro tem Head of Responsible Investment in leading the ongoing management and development of the company’s responsible investment indices and services including the flag ship FTSE4Good Index series. He also devised and introduced the FTSE4Good Ibex index launched in April 2008. In this capacity Will is a member of the FTSE4Good Policy Committee, FTSE4Good US Advisory Committee, FTSE4Good Breast Milk Substitutes Expert Committee and the FTSE4Good Criteria Development Committee.
Will is also a co-founder of RI Metrics, a company launched in November 2007 which specialises in the evaluation and rating of global fund managers’ responsible investment competencies and practices.
Prior to his consultancy practice, Will was Deputy Chief Executive of FTSE Group, responsible for global strategy and marketing as well as the FTSE4Good Indices. He was part of the small team of nine people that established FTSE as an autonomous company in 1995.
While at FTSE, Will worked on a range of projects that underpin the success and expansion of the Group, including a three-year posting in New York to establish and manage FTSE Americas, the company’s successful first overseas business unit.
Before his New York appointment, Will served as FTSE’s global sales director based in London. Earlier in his career, he worked in the London Stock Exchange (“LSE”) Indices Unit, where he was Head of Commercial Management. Before this, Will spent five years in the derivatives industry, specializing in the marketing and promotion of traded options while working with the LSE’s subsidiary, the London Traded Options Market.
Will holds a BSc in Zoology from the University of Wales and a Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) Diploma from the Guildhall University in London. Will is a founder member of Ethical Corporation Magazine's Editorial Advisory Board and a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham’s International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility.
He is a guest lecturer at Warwick University Business School in the UK and a member of the UK Sustainable Investment Forum’s Sustainable Pensions Advisory Board and Edinburgh University’s Carbon Benchmarking Steering Committee.

Cheryl Scott - Senior Advisor Global Health Team, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Cheryl Scott, senior advisor in the Global Health Program, helps build capacity and expertise across Global Health teams to ensure that vaccines and other health solutions reach the people who need them most.
Scott joined the foundation in 2006 as chief operating officer. She oversaw all major operational functions and, following Warren Buffett’s historic gift, led foundation-wide change initiatives to achieve large and rapid increases in organizational and grantmaking capacity and impact some of the world’s biggest challenges.
Before joining the foundation, Scott served for eight years as president and CEO of Seattle-based Group Health Cooperative, one of the oldest and most respected integrated health care systems in the U.S. She had also served as Group Health’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Scott is a clinical professor in the Department of Health Services at the University of Washington, where she teaches a graduate seminar on leading complex adaptive systems.

Prof. Lijing L. Yan is currently an associate professor at the Department of Applied Economics, Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. She is also affiliated with the Institute of Health Economics and Management, Peking University and Department of Preventive Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, USA. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Peking University (1992), Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley (1997), and doctoral degree in Demography from the University of California, Berkeley (1999). From 1999 to 2001, she worked as a research analyst on health economic projects at the National Bureau of Economic Research (Stanford, California) and since then, a research assistant professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. She is the lead author (or co-author) on over 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has made many presentations in national and international conferences. She is also the principal investigator or co-investigator on several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health, USA, the National Natural Sciences Foundation of China, and the Ford Foundation. Her main research interests include etiology and prevention of cardiovascular disease, economic analyses of health behaviors, health insurance and risk management, integrated delivery system and total health management.
