Kaiser Kabir

CEO and Managing Director of Renata, Bangladesh

Kaiser Kabir is CEO and Managing Director of Renata Ltd, Chairman of Renata Agro Industries and Chairman of Purnava Ltd. He has been influential in Bangladesh, and in South Asia more widely, in encouraging the food and pharmaceutical sectors to produce healthier products and ensure that they are accessible to the poor. Since he took on responsibility as CEO of Renata its market capitalisation has grown from US$ 5 million to US$ 400 million. In the same period Renata has grown its sales and has moved from 11th to 5th place in sales ranking of the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh.  Prior to joining Renata as CEO Mr Kabir was Managing Director of BRAC-Renata Agro Industries Ltd. He has also served as a consultant to the World Bank in Bangladesh and as Research Officer at the Institute of Economics and Statistics  at the University of Oxford. Mr Kabir has an M Phil in economics from Oxford and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economics with Distinction from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
