GAIN’S WORLDWIDE PRESENCE

GAIN’s Regional Offices in Johannesburg and New Delhi and representative offices in Beijing and Cairo serve as a platform to support GAIN projects in the field. They provide important local expertise, oversight and technical assistance to projects and represent GAIN with key stakeholders. Their principal role is to assist the GAIN Secretariat in Geneva with developing, implementing and monitoring in country projects and activities across all areas of GAIN programming. In addition, they help establish relationships with key national stakeholders to identify and evaluate new grant opportunities for GAIN in the region.

Besides playing a crucial role in grant management and development, GAIN’s Regional Offices support the GAIN Secretariat to build partnerships, carry out research and advocacy activities that raise public awareness around nutrition and convene events that bring together a wide range of stakeholders in the fight against malnutrition. Other activities include: providing expert advice on the design of food fortification programs and projects; assessing trends in the nutrition industry within the region and their impact on GAIN initiatives; and representing GAIN at regional technical meetings and conferences.
